IRC has been working in Pakistan for over 30 years, and manages & delivers large, complex programs to meet needs in health, education, safety, environmental health and livelihoods for displaced, poor & conflict-affected communities. IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.

Job Overview: The Community Engagement Officer will play a pivotal role in facilitating workshops, conducting situational analyses, and supporting the district manager and Senior Program Officer in the smooth implementation of educational activities in the field.

Major Responsibilities:

• Develop a Detailed implementation plan and conduct mapping of community organizations.

• Establish Community Organizations and facilitate training sessions for capacity building.

• Actively participate in data collection and assessments within the districts.

• Attend district-level cluster meetings and provide project updates accordingly.

• Form or reactivate PTSMCs and organize capacity-building training for all PTSMCs.

• Arrange training for Teachers, Academic supervisor, Headteachers and mentors and manage in-service professional development activities in the district.

• Establish linkages between the community, PTSMCs, and other service providers.

• Develop reading and learning materials for targeted schools within specified timelines.

• Support Senior Program Officer and District Manager in Managing the documentation and dissemination of project results, including preparation and submission of progress reports, presentations, and other program documentation.

• Develop a Community Engagement Strategy for refugees and host populations in Chaman and Chaghi to foster social cohesion and organize events for enhancing social cohesion between refugee and host populations.

• Must possess expertise in social-emotional learning, student and teacher well-being, and cross-cultural interactions.

• Will be responsible to maintain accurate data, MOVs in both hard and soft.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Sciences, or related field.

• Prior experience in community engagement, preferably in education projects.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural settings.

• Proficiency in relevant computer applications.

• Strong analytical and report writing skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good understanding of Gender and vulnerability

• Good community mobilization and conflict resolution skills.

Position Reports to:

Administratively District Manager and Technically to Project Manager Position directly supervises none. Language Skills:

• Fluent in local languages Pashto- Balochi along with good English speaking/writing

Working Environment: Works well in teams and promotes teamwork; is flexible and able to handle pressure well
