| Job Description: |
- Ensure that the database has adequate storage, backup, recovery and archiving procedures and follow those procedures.
- Determines database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming; reviewing objectives with clients; evaluating current systems
- Installs database systems by developing flowcharts; applying optimum access techniques; coordinating installation actions; documents actions
- Maintains database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions
- Provides leadership, guidance, and coordination for large DBA support teams, including coordination of complex database design, development, implementation, and support of databases for project and/or production efforts
- Maintain organization’s database, ensuring consistency and availability of data.
- Consolidate and streamline the storage of data, transferring information from various sources, as applicable.
- Set up and test new database management techniques.
- Participation in development projects, systems design, maintain contact with the software vendor for any kind of optimization.
- Monitor health of a database system on regular basis, also include performance monitoring and tuning.
- Ensure that backups are made and other housekeeping jobs are taken care of. Add/remove users and changing critical passwords.
- Install new/changed applications (i.e. stored procedures/triggers and updates from software vendor).
- DB vendor’s technical support and any other aspects of IT activity around a database system.
- Responsible of System Administration of all servers in data center and DR Site (Applications/hardware).
- Provide ongoing support to all IT infrastructure/ADC channels.
- Responsible for patch management of all servers in DC and DR site.
- Any other responsibility assigned by the supervisor.
Core Competencies:
- Strong knowledge and experience of Oracle & SQL Server
- Strong knowledge and experience of Database Design, Data Maintenance, Database Security, Database Management, Requirements Analysis & Operating Systems ( Windows and Linux)
- Equipped with a good understanding of laws regarding privacy, data storage, data backups. Knowledge of Banking application and proven ability to work in distributed systems
- Should have professional level Certification in Oracle or MS SQL Server
- Good written and oral communication skills. Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment, Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, Technical Zeal, Presenting Technical Information & Training
Technical Training:
