Responsibilities
- Should be sensitized to marginalized communities
- Provide Counselling that is effective, ethically appropriate, in line with HIV confidentiality principles and with respect for human rights and values of the target population, community and PLHIVs.
Types of counselling to be provided include:
a. HIV prevention/transmission and risk reduction
b. Pre and Post test counselling
c. Treatment adherence
d. Couple counselling/Planning/Reproductive Health
e. Infant feeding and child care
f. Nutritional Counselling
g. Psycho social support, wellbeing, and care counselling
- Ensure timely completion, accuracy and documentation of HTC/VCT Register and ensure data is entered in the required formats (for monitoring and review purposes)
- Overall psychological assessment of HIV positive patients
- Function as case managers for an overview of the referrals
- Participate in the staff meetings and provide feedback
- Coordinate with Drop in centre coordinator & Outreach teams in following work plans for outreach and follow-up activities.
Duration: 6 months contract (extendable)
